Herbsmith Rx Sound Tendon nourishes liver yin and liver blood to strengthen tendons and ligaments.
CHINESE THEORY
The liver controls the sinews such as tendons, ligaments, and fibrous tissue. The liver is analogous to a healthy green tree with strength and yet pliability to withstand the forces of the environment. The tree needs to have the strength to support and yet have the flexibility to bend with the wind. Sinews, tendons, and ligaments are similar. They need to have the strength to support the body but have the flexibility to bend and support the concussive forces placed upon them.
When liver yin or liver blood becomes deficient the sinews become brittle like a dried-out tree. The brittleness of the structures doesn't allow for the flexibility needed in motion and can lend to the tearing of fibers. The herbs in Sound Tendon tonify liver yin and liver blood to restore strength and resilience.

- Wu Jia Pi / Acanthopanax Root Bark
- Bu Gu Zhi / Psoralea Fruit
- Inactive Ingredients (in Flax Plus only): Ground Flax Seed
SUGGESTED USE
(For the 1000 lb Horse)
TRSDITIONAL FORMULAS: Administer two (2) tablespoons twice daily for the initial twenty days. Then, administer two (2) tablespoons once a day thereafter. Note: In the event, the horse refuses to eat herbs, start with small amounts in the grain until the horse is acquainted with the taste, or try the Flax Plus version of this formula. Almost all horses will eat the herbs in their grain.
FLAX PLUS: Administer one (1) scoop twice daily for the initial twenty days. Then, administer one (1) scoop daily thereafter. Six tablespoon scoop included.
PRECAUTIONS: Not to be used in pregnant mares.
